Peel back the layers of physician anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, physician suicide, and you’ll often find the negative manifestation of the Socialized Mind.[i]
“You can’t reach out for help because you’ll be seen as weak.”
“It doesn’t matter that it’s unsustainable. You must power through, must keep going.”
“You’re a doctor. You’re supposed to have all the answers.”
“You’ll be seen as weak.”
“You’ll be judged, labeled, and relegated.”
When a physician gets stuck in the negative manifestation of the Socialized Mind, they also get stuck with the “Evil Twins” of silence and isolation. Then they don’t talk about it and carry the burden alone.
We must smash the Evil Twins of silence and isolation. We must stretch our thinking beyond the Socialized Mind into the Self-Authoring Mind.[ii]
Up your game.
